The Bape "Sta" shoes are an addition to the Bathing Ape clothing line (started in 1993), created by Tokyo designer and company founder Nigo. In the upper price range and hard to find, Bape shoes have spawned an exess of fakes out there. These counterfeit shoes are known as FAPEs, which is short for "Fake Bapes." Nike created a signature shoe for Michael Jordan, called the Air Jordan. The creation of designer Peter Moore changed the basketball shoe industry. Subsequently Nike spun off the Jordan line into its own company named appropriately the "Jordan Brand."
